If your doctor prescribed you depression medication or high blood pressure medication, would you just take it when it was convenient? Or would you only take it half the time to 'save money'?

My guess is your answer is probably a "Heck No"! So, why do people think that healthy eating, natural supplements and vitamins are any different? To see the healthy results, we must be consistent with these things. 

So, what types of things should we be doing consistently to be healthy?

Healthy Eating Habits

I despise the word 'diet'. No one should feel that food is a punishment or a rule. Food should be enjoyable, even when healthy. Instead of dieting, we should focus on healthy eating habits. Things like making sure to eat at least three meals a day, eating fruits and vegetable and avoiding processed and fast food. 

Sure, you can have a treat occasionally but that is in additional to all the good things you are doing, not in place of healthy eating.

Drink Plenty of Water

Alongside healthy eating habits is healthy drinking habits, that is water that I referring too. Everyone should be drinking half their body weight in ounces of water everyday. It may seem like a lot but our water needs water the thrive. Simple dehydration can be the cause of many annoying health issues. So make sure to drink that water! I keep a Yeti with me all day long, which is 30 ounces of water. I make sure to drink at least 3 of those a day. There are many apps you can keep track of water intake in, such as FitBit, My Fitness Pal and many others. 

Good Exercise Habits

This is definitely one that I am working to continually improve upon. The most important thing though is to get active. It is summer time so I do a lot of hard yard work, like Saturday I ripped out several very sad rose bushes from my yard. Did I go to the gym that day? No, but I got my heart rate up and used my muscles. It is important to just start doing something active each day.

Supplementation

Let's be real, our food is just not as nutritious as it was 100 years ago. You will not get the same nutrients from a piece of fruit as your great grandma did because of the soil depletion. So, I highly recommend that everyone take a good multi-vitamin daily. My whole family uses Plexus Multi-Vitamins, my husband and I take the XFactor Plus and our son takes the XFactor Kids Chewable (it's a multi-vitamin and probiotic in one!). Again, if you do not take it everyday it will not be able to work the way it is supposed to. So, TAKE YOUR MULTI-VITAMIN EVERYDAY.
