Laundry Soap - Is Yours Toxic?

My husband works for SC Johnson and he loves to support the company by using their products. For those of you who do not know, SC Johnson owns Mrs. Meyers, Caldrea and Babyganics, three awesome natural ingredient brands. I am however a bit of a cheap-o charlie so when Eric asked me about a year ago if I wanted to switch to Mrs. Meyers or Caldrea laundry detergent and softener I foolishly said no.

Then a couple of weeks ago I stumbled upon this article, “Here’s Why You Should Avoid Toxic Tide Laundry Detergent Like The Plague”. I guess I am not shocked by this information but I was shocked to see that in Tide Free and Clear this toxin is even more potent! I use Free and Clear due to skin sensitivity. So, what did I do? I went straight to Mrs. Meyers and Caldrea’s websites to check their ingredients. You see, unlike most household supply companies SC Johnson lists all their ingredients even though by law they are not required to. I was pleasantly surprised to see that I approved of all the ingredients in the laundry detergents and softeners made by both.

So, I finally broke down and paid more than I am used to on some Caldrea Pear Blossom Laundry Detergent and Caldrea Pear Blossom Agave Dryer Sheets. Y’all, it is the BEST thing I have done recently! When I pulled my clothes out of the dryer they smelled delicious and my skin has not had a reaction to it at all, I even washed my undergarments in it.

For my 5 month old son, I switched to Babyganics Lavender Laundry Detergent  and Babyganics Lavender Dryer Sheets. His clothes smell great too and he has not had any skin reactions to it!

My life is forever changed thanks to that article. I have clean, great smelling clothes that will not be harmful to wear. I highly recommend switching to Mrs. Meyers, Caldrea or Babyganics!
